What if all of your worries, fears and anxieties were gone, and
you felt totally relaxed, free and at ease in every
situation—all of the time?
If this is your reality, then you probably already know the impact
Inner Charisma can have on your life. There’s no mistaking
someone who “owns” his or her charisma potential. These are the
people to whom we feel drawn. They have an aura that captivates
us. Their level of confidence makes us feel secure and inspired
when we’re around them.
We’re all born with charisma; it is not a genetic trait. It does,
however, lie dormant or underutilized in most of us. Here are
four secrets that are guaranteed to help you fully develop this
priceless birthright: |
-
Know yourself…intimately.
If someone asks, “Who are you?” your response should be about more
than your name and job title. Who you are can be found in your
strengths and passions. It’s reflected in your unique
contribution to this world, and driven by your values (what
gives you true meaning in life) and integrity (the
standards/ethics by which you live your life). When you know and
live your truth, everything about you is congruent. This level
of self-respect and honesty draws admiration from observers.
-
Focus more on those with whom you
communicate and less on yourself.
Feeling nervous or uncomfortable only happens when you’re caught
up in your “stuff”. By turning your attention and interest to
the person or audience with whom you’re sharing time, you shift
into the moment. It is impossible to feel resistance of any kind
when you’re fully present, only a lightness of being. We all
share the same basic human needs: to feel understood, important
and appreciated. Get to know who they are. Go beyond surface
talk. When you’re an expert on yourself and comfortable in your
skin, you’ll have nothing to prove, only a desire to learn (and
people can be truly fascinating). Become curious and open and
everyone will feel amazing in your company.
-
Practice an optimistic
perspective…often!
There are at least two ways to look at any given situation. When
you choose a positive perspective, you’re choosing to be
productive and look for an opportunity to grow. Holding a
negative point of view is like having a dark film over your
glasses. It holds you back and prevents you from seeing a clear
and accurate picture.
Stop, Look and
Listen
to what is being offered before you choose your reaction. Both
pessimism and optimism are habit forming. It’s only the latter
that will give you useful and magnetic results.
-
Grow your mind.
Read widely and deeply. Reading is a powerful way to gain years
of experience from a few hours of study. Every book or magazine
has at least one strategy or tool of benefit. Expand and deepen
your understanding of different topics. Growing your mind and
growing the quality of your life are synonymous. Wisdom helps
you raise your standards and become highly competent, strong,
calm and disciplined—all of which are present in a charismatic
person.
